Alicia Carol, Music Coordination

The spirit of creativity has always guided me. I started singing at Unity churches while I was studying vocal performance at Wichita State University. After spending two years studying musical theatre and singing in New York at Circle In The Square and Singers Forum, I met my husband and we moved to Los Angeles. I have been a soloist for several Unity Churches in the Los Angeles area and music director for two, Alhambra and South Bay. We moved back to the Kansas City area five years ago and I began to sing at the Village and was also music director of Unity of Lee’s Summit. I love working with the Unity of the Heartland’s music team and Sheryl to co-create an amazing worship experience through music.

We have had an amazing musical year at the Unity of the Heartland. Our kids chorus have performed for many special services and joined our adults caroling this year at TLC and Pennicle Ridge. We have co-created our first Youth Sunday in which the kids did the whole service. Check it out on our Facebook page. It has been fun co-creating special celebrations and honorings, and to include not only our music team, but bring in New Thought artists to share with our community.
